I want to invest in Canada

Business Immigration

The Canadian government consistently welcomes individuals of various backgrounds, including investors, business managers, and entrepreneurs, who wish to establish themselves in Canada and explore new prospects. They are encouraged to consider the diverse array of expedited Business Immigration Programs such as the “Entrepreneurship program” and the “Business Investment Program. Your professional experience and business expertise are highly valuable assets that can aid in your investment in Canada’s rapidly expanding and diverse economy, securing a prosperous future.

The objective of these initiatives is to stimulate economic growth and enhance the Canadian job market by drawing in investors, entrepreneurs, and self-employed individuals from abroad who possess access to venture capital, substantial business expertise, and entrepreneurial or managerial abilities.

If business immigration aligns with your background and aspirations, you have a multitude of options to select from. Depending on your intended location in Canada, you can opt to apply through a i) a Province-Nominee Program for business, except for Quebec and Nunavut, ii) Quebec Business Immigration Programs, or one of the  iii) Federal Business Immigration Programs, such as the Start-up visa and Self Employed Programs.

Self Employed

This initiative is designed for foreign individuals who can generate their own employment opportunities by making artistic, cultural, or athletic contributions to Canada’s workforce. Such self employed applicants do not have direct employment with an employer. Those with the necessary financial resources and relevant work experience can seek entry through the Self-employed Program. While there are no specific criteria for minimum net worth or investments, self-employed applicants must show that they possess enough funds to establish themselves in Canada, support their dependents, and sustain the work related to their selection.

In order to qualify for Canada’s Self Employed Program, individuals must be between the age of 18 to 50, provide two years of minimum experience in the last 5 years, either as self-employed or participating at a world class level in art, culture, recreation, or sport activities. Applicants are evaluated based on a points-based assessment that considers several factors, including education, work experience, age, language proficiency, and adaptability. The minimum score required for qualification is 35 out of 100 points.

The self-employed program may appear straightforward, but crafting a strong application poses a significant hurdle. It is the responsibility of the applicant to provide evidence that they fulfill the program requirements and can establish their own means of employment in Canada. This is where, we at Barakat Immigration are prepared and would be glad to assist our clients in fulfilling their desires and dreams in entering and remaining in Canada, ultimately to a permanent residency.

Start-up VISA

The Start-up Visa Program in Canada (excluding Quebec) is designed to attract immigrant entrepreneurs who possess the innovation, job creation capabilities for Canadians, and the potential to compete internationally in building businesses.

Start-ups from diverse industries such as IT, technology, healthcare, manufacturing processes, agriculture, consumer products, and more are eligible, and there are no restrictions on the specific start-up concepts that can be considered.

Through this program, foreign entrepreneurs who have a validated business idea approved by a designated organization such as venture capitalists, angel investors, or business incubators, are provided with a Commitment Certificate and a Letter of Support (LOS).

Applicants and their dependents, when equipped with the Letter of Support (LOS), evidence of language proficiency, and the necessary financial resources, are eligible to apply for Canadian permanent residency.

The program includes a seasoned business advisory team collaborating with designated organizations to provide guidance and mentorship to entrepreneurs throughout the obligatory due diligence procedure.

Upon identifying and approving a suitable start-up with the designated organization, the due diligence process is completed, and the application for Canadian Permanent Residence can be filed with the Letter of Support.
